I’m going to be slow posting the next few days as I plan to be in a drunken stupor mourning the fact that Pharrell supposedly is expecting a little bundle of joy. No but really I’m going to be super busy the next few days so bear with me.

Somebody do a urine test on this child. When asked what concern he had when filming his new reality show “Outsiders Inn“, Booooobbbbbaaaayyyy (yes that was my Whitney voice) was quoted saying:

“I just made sure I stayed in the back because, when you are going out in the woods with a bunch of rednecks, the dark one gets shot. I thought I probably looked like a bear to them, you know. I must really feel comfortable with my readers because I’m going to share something with you that I have been trying to learn to live with for years. Years ago, when I was a girl, my first crush was Big Daddy Kane. That’s not my confession though. First off, don’t judge me.

Ok……years ago, when I was young, I mean really young, like if you said the tooth fairy was a Verne Troyer sized boy in a white jumpsuit (yeah I’m still not talking to certain family members for that) I would believe you. Ok, so my confession is……I wanted to be Bobby Brown’s Tenderoni.

I loved him, I loved his tic tac like little teeth and gumby hair and used to listen to Tenderoni over and over again. And then Every Little Step, Rock Witch’a…you couldn’t tell me I wasn’t going to marry that man. Don’t judge me.

And then that damn Whitney had to have something too much in common with him and now look at him. We could never be together now! (For the record, I no longer wanted to be his Tenderoni in like 89. That’s when it was all about Tevin Campbell. Don’t judge me).

We all have skeleton’s in our closets. It’s just my skeleton’s would get smoked by one of my first skeletons.

Usually the thought of two T.I.’s is just too much for my little heart of a horny 75 year old woman can bear, but this whole T.I. vs. T.I.P. thing is now starting to just creep me out.

I think that it is natural for T.I. to duplicate himself, considering he has already done that like 5, 6, 7…oh who is counting anymore times. I used to want to catch him in a dark alley to uh….talk, but 18 kids later I’m afraid just eye contact with T.I. would leave me with a little Rubberband boy…or girl of my own. He can still get it though. Did I just say that?

I would have paid good money to have been in the pitch meeting for the Oh Mi Bod music power vibrator. I know gas is like $17.89 gallon right now but are times so hard we can no longer rely on batteries for that kind of thing anymore? What next solar powered vibrators that work especially well when used in direct sunlight?

Then, they have the Boditalk that is activated by calls and lasts for the entire call. Ok so quick question. What if someone (this would so be me) forgets they have the Boditalk on and gets a call for a job or something. How do you even begin to explain how “excited” you are to get their call?

I’ve been a fan of J*Davey for a few years now after coming across them through their Myspace page. The LA based duo of Miss Jack Davey and Brook D’Leau recently released their double cd, The Beauty In Distortion and The Land of The Lost .

The fact that Prince is a fan is no surprise considering the fact that listening to J*Davey makes me want to throw on a leather one piece and pretend to be Appolonia in Purple Rain. Their cd reminds me of a mix of vintage Prince and some of J Dilla’s beats all with a classic 80’s vibe.

It’s been a long time since I have heard a cd where I love every song equally, and considering the fact that there are 23 songs on the cd (some that I have been trying to find for a long time) I am hoping this cd will remove J*Davey from their current “underground” status.

I have to agree with ?uestlove who said that “J*Davey is the swift kick in the ass I’ve been praying for Black Music to produce”. Check out their video for Mr. Mister. And on a side note, how hot would it be for someone like Andre 3000 or SA-RA to collaborate with them. (If they have collaborated with SA-RA already, leave the info in the comment section!).

I finnnnnaaaaalllly got my issue of Vogue Italia! I was on my way home from having sushi with friends and saw it on display at a newstand in West Hollywood. I literally pulled up illegally and jumped out of my car with all the windows down and then spent at least 5 minutes deciding which cover to get. I finally got Naomi and decided to get Sessile later considering she beyond killed her spread.

Photoshop is one hell of a drug.

I’m all about self-confidence and not letting a few flaws stop you, but when it’s literally not your beauty but your booty that your known for, you would think as Necole Bitchie said you would have enough sense to slap a little M.A.C. 45 concealer on that bad boy and call it a day.  I have a bullet hole and stab wound myself(life before the blog, long story) but I have enough sense to cover it up…especially for a photo op!

This weekend trying to get tickets to see The Dark Knight is as hard as trying to keep track of how many arrests DMX has had in a month.

A lot of the film was filmed right outside of my job when I was living in Chicago so I’ve been looking forward to seeing the movie for a while. It definitely lived up to it’s hype and was better than I expected it would be. Since I’m not into super hero movies I thought it would be hard for me to keep interest, but it’s one of those movies that anyone can easily get into.

Christian Bale did an excellent job, but Heath Ledger definitely was the star of the film. He took his character to another level and definitely deserves an Oscar, if not nomination.

The movie set a one-day box office record with $66.4 million on opening day and will more than likely break the opening-weekend record of $151.1 million. (Source)

If your a fan of A Different World, you may remember the episode where while working for an art buyer, Whitley goes behind her bosses back and bids on an art piece. What you may not know is that the boss in the episode is played by Josephine Premice, who also guess stared on The Cosby Show and The Jeffersons.

Josephine’s career spans further than her featured roles on influential black shows as she is noted as one of the largest Calypso performers during the 40s and 50s, as well as a Broadway performer.

The Haitian born singer, actress, and dancer received a degree from Columbia University, but changed her plans to have a career in Anthropology to instead pursue her career in entertainment.

She performed in a Calypso musical Caribbean Carnival and performed in productions such as A Hand Is On The Gate and on Broadway in Jamaica, both of which lead to Tony Award nominations. In her performance in Jamaica, which also stared Lena Horne and one of my personal all time favorites Ossie Davis, her performance was quoted as being ”a razzle-dazzle lead performer who was hot flame to Horne’s cool fire”.

During one of Josephine’s performances of Jamaica, a friend of Lena Horne, Timothy Fales, the white son of a Wall Street Banker and descended of Mayflower settlers, fell for and married Josephine. The wedding was tabloid news with headlines such as”Negro Singer Married to Socialite Ship Exec“.

The couple moved to Rome for a 6 year hiatus before returning to the states where they lived in a large apartment on the Upper West Side of New York that they turned into a salon for entertainers and socialites. Despite living a posh life filled with dinner parties with Jackie Onassis and Harry Belafonte, Josephine’s time in Europe left her almost forgotten in the shadows of other stars at the time, like Diahann Carroll and her Jamaica co-star, Lena Horne.

It wasn’t until her daughter, socialite Susan Fales-Hill released her memoire, Always Wear Joy, that her Mother, the elegant but forgotten Broadway star that would primp just to go to the grocery store was honored.

In her book, Susan describes life growing up with “grand divas” and describes women like her Mother as empowering because “they had jewels, they had furs. They bought the things themselves. If a man did buy them for them, it was because the women were objects of total adulation.”

What’s most interesting to me about Josephine’s story is how although she was so glamorous, she was often yet rejected by casting agents for her dark skin and “unconventional looks”. I just started reading Always Wear Joy so I’ll be interested to read more on her struggles as a black entertainer.

I think I’m going to wake up tomorrow and wonder if my page was hacked into when I see a post on Ashanti. I’m not sure if it will ever happen again so I figure since I kinda sorta not really but about .003% like something she did, I may as well jump at the opportunity to say something nice about the Black Fran Dresher (stole that from Crunk and Disorderly).

Ok so here it goes….I have 2 very nice things to say about Ashanti. 1) She has killer legs. 2) She made a song that I think DID NOT include the word baby. If I’m wrong please correct me on that one.

Anywho, I did my good deed of the day. Let me stop with the Ashanti jokes, I may have some fans on here I’m offending and I know how I get when anyone says anything bad about Beyonce(anyone but me of course) so I’ll be nice from now on. The only way to do that is to never post on her again. Kidding!

Rihanna aka Sandy from Grease took to the new issue of In Style Magazine to show off her tattoos.

I love tattoos and she actually has some pretty fly ones, but it still doesn’t stop me from being a tad tired of the bad girl act. Redundant bad girl act or not, it’s working for her and she is one of my favorite fashionistas.

In addition to that, I was just thinking she should come out with a clothing line, but it appears she is already way ahead of me and one is already in the works.
