“Can’t we just like kick this old school. You know, like I stick the baby in a basket, send it your way, like Moses and the reeds?” ~Juno

I cannot say enough about this movie. I finally saw it after wanting to see it for a while and was impressed. The writing was smart and consistent without trying to be too witty. I didn’t just laugh out loud, I literally cracked up laughing and tried to remember all the one liners to repeat later—especially the one about being beautiful and evil like Diana Ross lol!
I am pulling for Ellen Page for the Oscar and can’t wait to see more from the writer, Diablo Cody, who is a reformed stripper of all things. I guess all that time twirling on poles and trying to think happy thoughts gave her lots of time to come up with this gem.
Now, as much as I love me some Oprah…well not as much as Gayle…I wasn’t to crazy about how she kept mentioning how Diablo was a stripper before she wrote Juno, her first film during her appearance on Oprah a few weeks ago. Now, yes it is amazing to come from clear heels to Oprah without it being some Wildest Dreams episode, but still….did Oprah really have to mention that the girl was once a stripper as much as she mentions her good friend John Travolta and Maya Angelou? I’m sure when she became a journalist way before she was ruler of the universe she wouldn’t have liked if everyone kept mentioning her humble beginnings.
What does it matter anyways, Oprah can buy my opinion. The woman makes 1/2 a million a day, hell she can buy my ability to do nothing more than tap dance on call to the tune of Good Ship Lollipop if it meant I could get my hands on 1% of her net worth.
By the way, in my opinion the trailer does not do this film justice.
